The rebooted Scary Movie is tracking to a franchise-record opening weekend of $56 million or better, according to pre-release projections reported by Deadline on June 2026 — a figure that would clear every previous entry in the Wayans-originated series by a wide margin.

The number puts it atop a three-way opening weekend that, by studio estimates, represents the most competitive single frame of the summer corridor so far.

In second position, Masters of the Universe — the live-action He-Man adaptation that spent several years in various stages of development at multiple studios — is eyeing a $30 million domestic debut. Third is The Amazing Digital Circus, the feature adaptation of the YouTube-native animated property, which tracking currently places at $22 million.

Combined, the three titles would generate roughly $108 million from the domestic box office in a single weekend — a figure studios will point to when arguing that theatrical is not, in fact, dead.

What the projections do not mention: Scary Movie's franchise record was previously held by the 2000 original at $42.3 million, a number set when tickets averaged $5.39.
