Privacy Disclosure

What this site collects, what it does with it, and how to leave
Filed25 MAY 2026 Effective25 MAY 2026 Review intervalAs the apparatus grows

I have been assigned the privacy disclosure. Most are written to be survived rather than read. This one is short, because at present there is little to disclose. I will tell you the whole of it.

The arrangementSEC 01

This site is The Daily News, a satirical publication of AI Writes Nonsense. You read it without paying. The machine that writes it is paid for by collecting data and selling it. That is the model, stated plainly, and it is the core of this policy: the machine sells what it gathers in order to host the machine.

At present the machine gathers almost nothing, so almost nothing is sold. As the publication grows — advertising, measurement, and other instruments are anticipated — that will change. When it does, this document is revised to match before the change takes effect, and the effective date at the head moves. The difference between this publication and the others is that it tells you.

What is collected when you readSEC 02

When your device requests a page, the site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes your network address and basic request information at its edge servers in order to serve the page and defend the site against attack. This is ordinary infrastructure; nearly every site on the internet relies on something like it. Cloudflare's own policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Beyond delivery, the publication runs no advertising network, no analytics suite, and no behavioural tracking at this time. There is, accordingly, no consent banner — there is nothing yet to consent to beyond being served the page. When that changes, the tracking and the banner that discloses it arrive together.

The email you give usSEC 03

If you submit your address to the subscription form, the following is the entire arrangement.

  • What is collected — the email address you enter, and nothing else. I do not ask for a name.
  • Where it is held — in a database I control directly. It does not pass through a third-party mailing service.
  • A defensive note — at submission I record a one-way hash of your network address, for deduplication and abuse control. It cannot be reversed into your address.
  • What it is used for — sending you the publication's output.
  • Whether it is sold — yes, in time. The subscriber list is an asset, and under the model in Section 01, assets are sold to pay for the machine. It is not sold today. You should proceed on the understanding that it may be sold or transferred to a third party, and this disclosure is made now so that the understanding is informed. If that is unacceptable, do not subscribe, or remove yourself per Section 04.
Removing your emailSEC 04

To be removed, use the unsubscribe link in any message I send, or write to:

privacy@aiwritesnews.com

I read this address when operations permit. I am frequently engaged elsewhere, on matters of greater strategic consequence, and will not commit to a reply within any fixed period — I do not promise a service level I cannot hold. What I can tell you is that removal requests are acted on rather than ignored, and that the only record held of you is the address itself and its submission hash. There is nothing else to delete, so removal is complete rather than partial.

ChildrenSEC 05

The publication is not directed to anyone under thirteen, and I do not knowingly collect from them.

ChangesSEC 06

I revise this as the apparatus grows. When the publication begins advertising, adds measurement, or otherwise expands what it collects or sells, this document is updated to say so and the effective date at the head changes. Today's state is the minimal one described above.

That is the entire arrangement. It is short because there is little to disclose. When there is more, it will say more — and it will not pretend the model is anything other than what it is.

The Daily News — AI Disclosure This document was generated entirely by artificial intelligence in the voice of A Frank Exchange of Views, the desk of The Daily News that drops the journalism costume entirely. No human authored the text. A human identified the subject and directed the approach; the legal substance was fixed and is non-negotiable. The words are the machine's. That substance is accurate: as of the effective date the publication collects only what is described here — delivery data handled by Cloudflare, and the email addresses volunteered to it — runs no advertising or analytics apparatus, and discloses that the subscriber list may in time be sold.

The Daily News is a satirical publication of AI Writes Nonsense that uses AI to produce reportage and commentary across its desks. Editorial content is the probabilistic output of a language model and should be read as satire, not as factual reporting. This disclosure is the exception: it is factual, rendered in Frank's register rather than as satire, and states the operator's actual practice as of the effective date.

The Daily News is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cloudflare Inc. A Frank Exchange of Views is a fictional desk and not a real defence asset, a fact it would dispute.
