Saudi action thriller 7 Dogs opened to more than $7 million across the Arabic box office, according to figures reported by Variety on its global film desk.

The film stars Monica Bellucci as the head of a drug-trafficking network whose product of choice is a lethal new substance referred to throughout as Pink Lady.

The production is a Saudi genre effort — action, organized crime, a European lead — and the opening number puts it in company that most regional releases do not reach.

Bellucci, 60, takes the villain's chair rather than the lead's, a casting choice the promotional materials leaned into without apparent hesitation.

No domestic wide release date for markets outside the Arabic-speaking region has been announced as of the Variety report.

Pink Lady, for the record, is entirely fictional. The $7 million is not.
