A manhunt was underway in Toledo, Ohio Saturday night after gunfire erupted at a neighborhood festival, wounding at least 12 people, Toledo police confirmed.
Authorities believe at least two shooters opened fire into the crowd. No arrests had been announced as of initial reports.
Victims were transported for treatment; their conditions were not publicly confirmed. The shooting sent festival-goers fleeing the scene.
Toledo police did not immediately name suspects or release a motive. The shooting follows a string of mass-casualty events at public gatherings across the country this summer.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office had not issued a formal statement as of Saturday evening. Toledo is Ohio's fourth-largest city, with a population of roughly 270,000.
Police are expected to hold a press briefing Sunday morning with updated information on the investigation, suspect descriptions, and victim count.
