Israeli strikes killed at least 17 people across southern Lebanon on Tuesday, Lebanon's state news agency reported, with nine of the dead concentrated in a single town.
The town of Tayr Debba suffered the heaviest single-site toll, accounting for nine fatalities, according to reports reviewed by the Wail.
The remaining eight deaths were spread across other strike sites in the south of the country, the Lebanese agency reported.
The strikes mark continued Israeli military action in Lebanese territory following months of cross-border fire that escalated sharply in late 2024.
Israel's military had not issued a specific statement on the Tayr Debba strikes at time of publication.
The Lebanese Health Ministry is expected to issue a full casualty update later Tuesday. Further strike assessments from the Lebanese Civil Defence are anticipated through the afternoon.
