The former manager of Daveigh Chase — the actress known for Lilo & Stitch and The Ring, who died earlier this month at 35 — is publicly warning people away from a GoFundMe launched in her name by a man identifying himself as her boyfriend.
The manager, speaking to Page Six, said the estate has sufficient means to cover funeral and related costs, and that the fundraiser's stated need does not reflect the estate's actual financial position.
The manager also took issue with the organizer's characterization of himself as Chase's boyfriend — a detail the fundraiser leads with and which, per the manager, is not straightforwardly true.
As of the Page Six report, the GoFundMe remained active. No representative of Chase's family has been listed as an endorsing party on the campaign page.
The fundraiser lists a dollar goal. The estate, per the former manager, does not need it.
