Emily Ratajkowski has given a new account of how her marriage to film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard came apart, dating the collapse to the period following the March 2021 birth of their son Sylvester Apollo Bear.
Speaking to a podcast audience, Ratajkowski described the couple’s sex life in terms that tracked the deterioration of the relationship, characterizing what happened after the birth as a definitive shift rather than a gradual drift.
Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard married in February 2018 following a brief courtship and separated in 2022. The divorce filing cited irreconcilable differences. Ratajkowski was granted primary custody of Sylvester, who turns four this year.
Infidelity allegations against Bear-McClard were reported by Page Six in July 2022, shortly before the separation became public. Bear-McClard has not made extended public comment on the divorce or on Ratajkowski’s subsequent statements about the marriage.
Ratajkowski addressed the relationship in her 2022 essay collection My Body, published by Metropolitan Books, though the pieces predate the separation. The podcast remarks represent the most explicit timeline she has offered for when, specifically, things went wrong.
Sylvester was not mentioned by name in the podcast segment as a cause — only as a marker on the calendar.
