Royal biographer Andrew Lownie is characterizing the former Prince Andrew as a man possessed of an “extraordinary sense of entitlement,” and he has a specific reported pickup line to support the thesis.

Lownie, whose research into the House of Windsor has previously produced documented controversy, surfaced the account via Page Six on May 25, 2026. The line itself, described in the piece as vulgar, was reportedly deployed by the former Duke of York in a social setting, though the outlet has not named the recipient.

Andrew was formally stripped of his HRH designation and royal patronages by Buckingham Palace in January 2022, following his civil settlement with Virginia Giuffre. He has since relocated to Royal Lodge, Windsor, following protracted negotiations over his continued residence there.

No spokesperson for the former prince has issued a statement in response to Lownie's account at time of filing.

A man who no longer holds a single official royal duty, it turns out, is still apparently in the market for an opening line.
