Elon Musk's X Money payments app began rolling out to U.S. users Tuesday, limited at launch to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers on the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The release marks the first domestic availability of X Money, a product Musk has positioned as a step toward turning X into a full financial services platform.
Premium subscribers in the United States can now access the feature directly through the X app. No changes to existing subscription pricing were announced alongside the launch.
X has not confirmed a timeline for expanding access beyond the current Premium tier. The company has previously described broader payments ambitions — including peer-to-peer transfers and merchant payments — but Tuesday's rollout is limited to the subscriber base already paying for elevated platform access.
Further details on fee structures, transfer limits, and eligibility expansion are expected as the rollout proceeds. No regulatory filings or state money-transmitter disclosures were made public by press time.
