Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on Sunday by US Marshals acting on a British extradition request, according to a report published Sunday by The Hollywood Reporter.
British authorities are seeking the brothers on charges that include rape and sex trafficking. The Crown Prosecution Service had already filed 21 criminal charges against the pair in the UK in May 2025.
Andrew Tate, 39, is a former professional kickboxer who built a substantial social media following before being banned from multiple platforms in 2022. Tristan Tate, 36, has appeared alongside his brother in online content and faced parallel legal scrutiny in both Romania and the UK.
The brothers were previously detained in Romania in December 2022 and again in April 2023 on separate charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized criminal group. Romanian prosecutors and British authorities have pursued overlapping investigations.
The Miami arrest represents the first detention of the brothers by US law enforcement in connection with the British extradition proceedings. The specific Miami location of the arrest and the presiding federal district court had not been confirmed in public filings at time of publication.
The extradition request covers conduct alleged to have occurred in the United Kingdom.
