Erica Parks is 19 years old, holds a pageant title, and carries a valid New York State real-estate salesperson license — an combination that has put her, according to a Curbed report, among the youngest agents currently working the city's residential market.
Parks told Curbed she has a ready answer for clients who raise an eyebrow at her age: “Old enough to be licensed!”
New York State sets the floor for the salesperson licensing exam at 18. Parks cleared it, completed the required 77-hour pre-licensing course, and is now operating in a market where the median asking rent in Manhattan cleared $4,200 in early 2025.
The pageant circuit and the broker circuit are not an obvious pairing, but Parks appears to be working both simultaneously, fielding listings and, presumably, questions about her age in roughly equal measure.
The license was issued. The title was won. The refrigerator, as it were, came with the apartment.
