President Trump declared Iran's response to his administration's peace proposal “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE” in a Sunday Truth Social post, blowing up any short-term hope of a diplomatic breakthrough between Washington and Tehran.

The outburst came as ceasefire negotiations stalled and separate talks over reopening the Strait of Hormuz — a chokepoint for roughly a fifth of global oil supply — produced no agreement.

Trump's post offered no counter-proposal and named no new timeline for resumed contact. The White House did not release a formal statement beyond the social media post, the News confirmed.

Iran has not issued a public reply to the rebuff as of Sunday evening.

No new round of talks has been scheduled. Senior administration officials are expected to brief congressional leaders this week on the state of the negotiations.
