Ukraine struck deep into Russia Sunday, sending roughly 300 drones across the country in one of the war's largest such offensives, temporarily shutting down Moscow airport and drawing a defiant vow from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russian air defenses intercepted the full wave of drones, according to Russian state-linked channels, but the scale of the assault forced Moscow's Vnukovo airport to halt flights for several hours.

Zelenskyy responded to Russian criticism of the strikes by declaring Ukraine would “bring the war back to Russia” — a direct statement that Kyiv intends to continue striking Russian soil rather than limiting operations to Ukrainian territory.

The barrage came as fighting continued along multiple front lines in eastern Ukraine, with Russian forces maintaining pressure near Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

Sunday's strike marks an escalation in Ukraine's long-range drone campaign, which Kyiv has used with increasing frequency to pressure Russian logistics, air infrastructure, and civilian morale.
