President Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that the “clock is ticking” on a nuclear peace deal, saying there “won't be anything left” of the country if it fails to reach an agreement with Washington.

Trump's threat, the starkest yet in the current standoff, came as the United Arab Emirates blamed Iran or its proxies for a drone strike that ignited fire near a nuclear installation on UAE soil.

The UAE did not name a specific group in its public statement but said the evidence pointed to Iranian involvement, according to reporting reviewed by the News. The incident marks a significant escalation in the regional military picture.

US-Israeli pressure on Tehran has tightened in recent weeks, with back-channel negotiations stalled over Iran's uranium enrichment limits. Trump has not set a public calendar deadline, but sources told the News that White House officials view the current window as narrow.

Iran has not publicly responded to Trump's Sunday remarks. Tehran has previously rejected ultimatum-style language as a precondition for talks.

Further US-Iran contact is expected through intermediaries this week. A formal negotiating session has not been scheduled.
