Ukraine launched one of its largest drone strikes on Russian territory Sunday, killing at least four people and wounding twelve others, local Russian authorities said.

Three of the four fatalities were reported in areas near Moscow. A fourth death was recorded elsewhere on Russian soil, though the exact location was not immediately confirmed.

Russian regional officials posted casualty updates through state channels Sunday morning. Emergency services were deployed to multiple impact sites, according to reports reviewed by the News.

The scale of the attack drew immediate attention. Ukrainian drone campaigns have escalated in frequency and reach over the past year, but Sunday’s operation ranked among the largest by confirmed death toll on Russian territory.

Kyiv has not issued a formal claim of responsibility. Ukrainian military policy is to neither confirm nor deny specific drone operations until assessments are complete.

The strike comes as ceasefire negotiations between the two countries remain unresolved. Both sides have continued offensive operations through the diplomatic calendar.

Russian authorities said investigations into the full scope of the damage were ongoing Sunday afternoon. A full casualty count was expected later in the day.
