Chloe Fineman confirmed Thursday that she is leaving Saturday Night Live after seven seasons, closing out a tenure that began in 2019 and included recurring impressions of Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore, and various other figures.

The departure landed without much visible drama until Page Six published sourced accounts on Saturday characterizing the backstage atmosphere as less than collegial. “Not everyone clicked with her,” one source told the outlet, without specifying a castmate, incident, or season.

A second source described the tension in similarly elliptical terms, confirming friction without attaching it to a name, a date, or a writers’ room argument anyone could actually verify.

NBC has not commented. Lorne Michaels, who has produced the series since 1975 with a four-year interruption, has not issued a statement. The cast member or members who allegedly did not click with Fineman have also, predictably, not come forward.
