Rosie O'Donnell visited her eldest daughter Chelsea in prison — and it was, by her own account, the first time the two had spoken properly in close to ten years.

O'Donnell disclosed the visit to Page Six on July 12, 2026, describing it as an emotional reconnection with a daughter from whom she had been estranged for the better part of a decade.

The former View co-host is now developing a television project built around the estrangement and the prison reunion, the report said. No network or platform was named at the time of filing.

Page Six did not report the nature of Chelsea's incarceration, the facility, or the length of her sentence. O'Donnell has five children, of whom Chelsea is the eldest, adopted in 1997.

The decade in question covers a period O'Donnell has addressed in fragments across interviews but never, apparently, in direct conversation with the person most involved.
