It is the kind of rumor that stops a scroll cold: Pamela Anderson and Tom Cruise, two names that have separately defined tabloid front pages for the better part of four decades, are now being linked in the same sentence — romantically.

Page Six reported Friday that a source described a “definitely a spark” between the two, and that Anderson is said to be in a receptive headspace about it. A separate source characterized her as “making room for love” in her life — a phrase that, in the tabloid vernacular, lands somewhere between a soft confirmation and a trial balloon.

The timing is notable. Anderson, 58, has spent the past two years in something of a public renaissance — her 2023 memoir Love, Pamela and the accompanying Netflix documentary reframed her story on her own terms and drew a new generation of admirers. She appeared at the 2024 Academy Awards without makeup to considerable cultural comment and has given a string of interviews about self-possession and independence. Making room for someone new, if that is what this is, arrives after a very public clearing-out.

Cruise, 63, has kept his personal life considerably quieter since his 2012 divorce from Katie Holmes. His last confirmed relationship, with actress Laura Prepon, was reported and quickly disputed over a decade ago.

Representatives for both have not commented publicly. The rumor, for now, remains a spark with no confirmed flame behind it.
